Based at Fenrock Climbing Centre, Wisbech
Boulder School is looking for an energetic, committed coach to join our weekend team. Sessions take place at Fenrock Climbing Centre, but you will be part of the Boulder School coaching staff, delivering our structured youth syllabus in a supportive, well-run environment.
This role suits someone who genuinely enjoys working with young climbers and wants to be part of a growing coaching programme with clear standards, systems, and room to develop.
The Role
Hours: Weekends, 10:00 – 18:00
Contract: Part-time employed position (weekend role)
Pay: Starting at National Minimum Wage, with higher rates negotiable based on experience, qualifications, and responsibility
You will be coaching children in small groups, delivering planned sessions that balance technique, movement skills, confidence-building, and fun. We are looking for coaches who actively engage with participants, not just supervise, and who can adapt their delivery to different ages and abilities.
Essential Requirements
Mountain Training Fundamentals 1 (or equivalent entry-level coaching qualification)
Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check for working with children
First Aid qualification, or willingness to obtain one
Confident communicator with the ability to inspire, motivate, and manage groups of children
Desirable
1+ year of coaching or instructional experience
Fundamentals 2, 3 or foundation coach
BWI or CWI qualification
Experience using Rock Gym Pro (RGP) or similar systems
Interest in developing your coaching practice and taking on greater responsibility over time
